Matrox® Video Products Group today announced Matrox Vetura Playback, a new application on the Mac for convenient playback of H.264 and .mov files using any of the Matrox MXO2 I/O devices.

lets get on to the Matrox MXO2 and, more importantly, the newest and imminent driver release that’s coming our way. Unlucky for some perhaps, but hopefully not for Matrox or their users, version 1.9 will be the 13th driver release for the MXO2 in just 18 months... and its a doozy. (

The MXO2 comes in several configurations: MXO2, MXO2 Rackmount, MXO2 LE and MXO2 Mini. All the MXO2 boxes essentially do the same thing, with the distinguishing factor being the inputs and outputs available. Each box provides for monitor calibration, up-convert, down-convert, cross-convert of video content, and optional accelerated encoding for H.264 using the Matrox Max technology. (
