The Matrox MXO2 is available in several configurations:

MXO2, features a complete set of input and output standards,This device provides broadcast-quality input/output via HDMI, SDI, and analog; professional audio inputs and outputs including built-in 5.1 surround sound monitoring; and HDMI video monitoring with calibration controls including blue-only.

MXO2 Rackmount - The version of the MXO2 is designed for post production facilities, broadcast news operations, and OB vans where highly-reliable equipment, more audio inputs and outputs, and genlock loop through are required. Matrox MXO2 streamlines editing workflow with Apple Final Cut Studio on Mac Pros and MacBook Pros. It provides broadcast-quality input/output via HDMI, SDI, and analog; professional audio input/output including built-in 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound monitoring; and HDMI video monitoring with calibration controls including blue-only.

MXO2 LE - Matrox MXO2 LE provides all the features of an I/O card in a sturdy, portable breakout box with professional audio and video connectivity. This device can easily be moved among the Mac Pros in your facility as the need arises and you can take it on the road with a MacBook Pro. It gives you highly-reliable, broadcast-quality input/output via HDMI, SDI, and analog; professional audio inputs and outputs; and HDMI video monitoring with calibration controls including blue-only

MXO2 Mini - This sleek little device for is the most portable in the MXO2 range. Designed for use with a laptop or a desktop system it provides capture via HDMI, analog component, S-Video, and composite. Convert your standard definition videos to high definition, or vice versa, while capturing or playing out, using Matrox MXO2 Mini's high-quality dedicated hardware. Playback high definition and standard definition video simultaneously. Turn your HDMI screen into a professional-grade video monitor with Matrox's unique color calibration tool.

All the MXO2 boxes essentially do the same thing, with the distinguishing factor being the inputs and outputs available. The full version of MXO2 provides a greater range of inputs and outputs than the MXO2 Mini. Each box provides for monitor full calibration, up-convert, down-convert, cross-convert of video content, optional accelerated encoding to H.264 using the Matrox Max technology.

Matrox MAX technology uses a dedicated hardware processor to accelerate the creation of H.264 files for mobile devices, the web and Blu-ray discs. By using specialized hardware acceleration, jobs are finished with amazing speed and system resources are free for other tasks. Matrox CompressHD works in systems with or without a video I/O device. Ease of use is ensured through direct integration with Apple Compressor on the Mac. As an added benefit, the Matrox MAX technology allows direct export to higher-quality H.264 Blu-ray compliant files from Compressor.
