Overall, with the release of CS6, Adobe have delivered us an awesomely powerful set of tools, with many useful, time-saving and creative features that far surpass what many other 'software suites' offer. The wheel has not been re-invented here, but the tyre's been upgraded, the rim strengthened and the alloy very much pimped! (Ed: please...no more metaphors!) Adobe has more than usual riding on CS6, the latest version of its Creative Suite package for production and post. CS5.5 launched at NAB last year just as Final Cut Pro X was landing with a thud among users who didn't care for the radically rethought interface and slimmed-down feature set. At one minute past midnight EST, Adobe published details about their new version of Premiere Pro CS6. We had the pleasure of a sneak peek a few weeks ago.
Why should an FCP based website look at a rival NLE? It is clear that FCPX isn't to everybody's liking and there are customers who have hundreds of FCP7 projects that need updating and won't survive the current transfer tools available. Adobe are clearly going after the editors and post houses that don't want to make the transition to X

Digieffects has updated and optimized their plugin effects to be Adobe CS5/64-bit compatible and have added some great new tools to their suite of tools! Both Damage v2.5 and Delirium v2.5 are fully compatible with the latest versions of After Effects, Premiere Pro, FCP and Edius. Even better news, this is a free upgrade for registered v2.0 owners! Warp Stabilizer was arguably the biggest addition to After Effects CS5.5. Once you understand how to use it, it’s a tool that can change the way you shoot; if you find yourself without a tripod or any kind of stabilization with a camera as notoriously unsteady as a DSLR, even on a moving shot, you can end up with footage that can look as if a dolly or SteadiCam were used to take it.
