One of Scott's favorite products being shown at NAB 2012 is the upcoming PluralEyes 3.0 from Singular Software. Many of use have been using PluralEyes for a lot of years now in all of our NLEs but when PluralEyes 3.0 ships, probably this summer, you’ll see a totally different and cleverly redesigned application. PluralEyes has really made a name for itself with editors as the DSLR workflows have been explored more and more. I have been using PluralEyes for my Final Cut System ever since I purchased my Canon 7D last year. I have also had the pleasure of working with PluralEyes on my Media Composer System. In both cases, I really like the software. It helps me fix the one problem that I have with DSLR video – the need for second source audio. Read More

Macintosh-based video editing tools are some of the best on the market, from Apple's Final Cut Pro to Adobe's Premiere Pro. Yet, for those whose event production workflows follow the digital cinema model of two-system productions, where the audio is captured separately from the video, there’s always been the problem of synchronization. And virtually all of us who shoot with DSLRs find ourselves in this boat. Read More

Recently Singular Software released DualEyes, which is a stand alone application that offers the same advanced automatic synchronization technology as PluralEyes but in my opinion, it simplifies the process even further. For my tests, I used a Canon 7D, recorded sound from a Samson Zoom H4N and imported my finished files into Adobe Premiere Pro. In terms of writing a “how-to” or creating illustrations on how to use DualEyes, it’s really not necessary. Read More

This article will go over PluralEyes’ general features and then illustrate the specific workflow used with Premiere Pro CS5 compared Read More
